You don't need a degree to move to Germany. You need Ausbildung.
Ausbildung is a 2-3 year paid vocational training. You work 3 days in a company, study 2 days in school, and you get paid €800 - €1,400 per month from day 1. After 3 years, you get a German certificate and a full-time job offer, usually from the same company.
This is how thousands of Africans are moving to Germany legally in 2026 without university, without blocked account of €11k, and without agent fees.
What is Ausbildung Exactly?
Think of it as "learn and earn". Germany has shortage in nursing, elderly care, electricians, plumbers, IT support, hotel management, logistics, and early childcare. German companies cannot find Germans to do these jobs, so they hire foreigners via Ausbildung.
Popular Ausbildung for Africans: Pflege (Nursing/Caregiver) - highest demand, €1,100/month; Erzieher (Childcare) - €1,000/month; IT Fachinformatiker - €1,200/month; Hotelfachmann (Hotel Management) - €900/month; Elektroniker (Electrician) - €1,000/month.
You don't pay tuition. The company pays you. You only need to fund your visa and flight and first month rent.
Requirements (Simple, but Strict)
1. German Language B1 or B2: This is non-negotiable. You must speak German because your customers/patients are German. Nursing needs B2, others B1 is enough. Go to Goethe Institute Accra, Lagos, Nairobi. Cost about $150 per level. Takes 6-9 months to reach B1 if you study serious.
2. School Certificate: WASSCE, KCSE, Bac - any secondary school certificate is enough. You don't need university degree. But you need to translate it to German and get it recognized.
3. Ausbildung Contract: You must get a contract from a German company first. This is the hardest part. You apply on ausbildung.de, azubiyo.de, and make-it-in-germany.com. Filter "Ausbildung" + your field. Send 50-100 applications. Use German CV (1 page).
Once you get contract, you apply for visa. No blocked account needed if your salary is more than €959/month (2026 rule). Most nursing Ausbildung pays more, so you don't need blocked account.

How to Apply Without Agent (Step by Step)
Step 1: Learn German to B1. While learning, prepare German CV (Lebenslauf) - 1 page, photo, no age/birth. And motivation letter (Anschreiben) - why you want this Ausbildung.
Step 2: Go to ausbildung.de. Create profile. Search "Pflegefachfrau" or your field. Location "Deutschland". You will see 1,000+ offers.
Step 3: Apply with CV + motivation letter + school certificate in German translation. Use DeepL to translate, not Google Translate.
Step 4: When company likes you, they do video interview in German. If you pass, they send you Ausbildung Vertrag (contract).
Step 5: Take contract to German embassy, apply for Ausbildung visa. Documents: Contract, B1 certificate, school cert, CV, motivation, passport. Visa takes 2-4 months.
Warning: Avoid agents who charge $3k for Ausbildung. The application is free. Companies don't pay agents - they hire directly. If someone says "Pay $2k I will get you Ausbildung", it's likely scam. Learn German and apply yourself.
After Ausbildung, you get 1 year job search visa if you don't get retained (but 90% get retained). Work 2 years and you can get permanent residence.
